What do I want to do?
Out of all of the 9 roles that are available I feel that I would be best suited to one of these 2 roles: Video Mixer and Floor Manager. I feel that my skills and abilities best suit these roles because I have a managerial ability and keen eye for detail. This means that I feel I would be good at ensuring all of the camera angles are covering what's intended but also that they are also all slightly different. It would be my job to ensure that the angles aren't just the exact same shot but from different positions, i would utilise skills such as blur from objects to give the shots character.
It is important for me to link this all to an overview of my skills and abilities such as my SWOT analysis. One of these skills that I have (as evidenced in my SWOT analysis) is that I have a good ability to work under pressure, this is important when working in the role that I am interested in. This highlights that what I am saying is true and that I have a previous portfolio of work that backs up the fact that I have what it takes to effectively undertake these positions. As well as this it links to my character, i have a keen eye for detail and also an ability to take charge in stressful situations and manage them for the best overall outcome.

Detailed Look At My Roles Of Choice
The core differences between my roles of choice are the separation between managerial responsibilities and then artistic responsibilities. I like that I have chosen roles with two opposing areas of responsibility as it gives me a good range of options so that if I don't get either of the two I know that I still have the abilities necessary for something else similar such as video technician or team manager. The skills required for both are very similar however, which is why I chose them. However, the video mixer role requires a combination of both areas of responsibility because you require artistic ability and subsequently manager skills in order to coordinate your intentions out to the videographers.
The responsibility of the video mixer is that they: “Select what the viewers see on their televisions at home” [ScreenSkills, 2023] this is especially important when it comes to a live show as it requires quick thinking and the ability to remain calm in high stress situations.
The responsibilities of the floor manager is that they must have the ability to take charge in a situation and give instructions to people without reservation to ensure that the runnings remain as intended. They are described as
“The eyes and ears of the director in the studio” [ScreenSkills, 2023] and it is said that “If they are good, the floor manager will be ahead of the director, liaising with cameras” [ScreenSkills, 2023] this tells us the importance of getting this role right and therefore the skills that are required to undertake it and remain that all standards are held to a good enough standard.

Analysis Of Portfolios
Portfolio 1 (Floor Manager):
https://www.screenskills.com/job-profiles/browse/unscripted-tv/floor-or-location/floor-manager/
Using the outlines set in this job profile it would be important for your portfolio to include a well managed and structured showcase of past work and skills. This highlights by careful use of font, graphics and overall layout that you have organisational abilities. The look would need to be professional and fairly minimalistic to ensure the main focus point is the information.
The difference between a portfolio in this role compared to one of a more creative role such as marketing manager would be the method of showcasing information. In a portfolio for being a floor manager you need to show less skills in terms of your digital creation abilities and instead focus on showing your in person experience and skills. If you were a marketing manager creating your portfolio however, it would be important for you to demonstrate design and information displaying skills within your portfolio so that you can show your abilities before they even read any of your work.
The area I will struggle the most in when it comes to my portfolio will be the layout and design of it. I will be taking examples of nice looking designs in other people's portfolios and forming it all together to make my ideal portfolio. I would however improve the showcase of information as a floor manager, although it isn't key it will help your work stand out from others like it and could therefore land you more opportunities.
Portfolio 2 (Floor Manager):

In this portfolio there is evidence of a real effort in terms of the information and how it was displayed. The layout is pleasing to the eye and means that all of the information you need is in one place however isn't crammed together. Each example given in this portfolio shows an image of what is being spoken about (to break up the text), a title of what it is that is being shown, a date that it was completed and a short bit of text explaining the part that this person had in that thing.
The difference between this portfolio and that of another portfolio is the information shown, in this portfolio it shows a wider explored range of work so therefore the knowledge and experience of this person may be considered as more beneficial than that of someone else in a similar position.
I will be taking areas of inspiration in places such as the design and layout of information so that I can create the best possible portfolio I can when I come to make my own one.
I would improve areas of this portfolio such as modernising it to ensure that the layout of everything is up to date with popular trends at the time it is being accessed, so that it shows your awareness of internet trends which may be important and beneficial if you are applying for a position within an online kind of sector.

Portfolio 3 (Video Mixer):

In this portfolio showcase it is obvious that care has been taken when exploring how this information was laid out on the page, the content graphics and font in general, all work well together to give a really professional look and experience for the reader. The ability to categorise the content even further using the drop down at the top is really good as it means as the viewer you can choose to only see the information which is relevant to what you are looking for.
This portfolio is different to others like it through not only the content which is being covered in it but also the presentation methods. When you click on the images which give a brief explanation of what the previous work is, it opens up to a different screen with a bigger image on more text explaining everything in more detail. This is really helpful as it prevents clutter on the main page but allows all of the necessary information to be accessed if its needed.
I would replicate the feature where you click on the piece of work and it expands in a separate area to show more detail, this is because the portfolio keeps its clean look on the main page by only showcasing short explanations and pieces of information.
The only thing I would improve is adding a bit more colour and excitement to the background, although it does the job and looks professional it also looks a bit boring with the colours consisting of white, grey and black. I feel adding more colour would make the viewers experience more pleasant and would just add more life to the page.
